CO2 - The built environment sector has a vital role to play in responding to the climate emergency. In 2015 I co-founded a new company, StoneCycling! The StoneCycling concept initially started at the Design Academy in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. StoneCycling focusses on using the full potential of waste to create new building materials. StoneCycling grinds, blend and processes waste in different ways. This leads to surprising results uncovering the great potential and value waste materials can have in unique building materials.

As a co-founder and Commercial Director, I’ve worked to build StoneCycling with all my energy and enthusiasm. With the team, we had fantastic adventures and achieved great results! Some milestones that I am proud of:

• The Waste Base Brick was introduced to the market in 2016 and a series of unique WasteBasedBricks® were introduced since then.
• More than 500,000 kg of waste was recycled in more than 30 projects in the Netherlands, Austria, UK, USA, Belgium, and Germany;
​
• together with a large network of (international) architects, project developers and construction companies we've made a major step forward towards a circular construction.
